The FC-R8000 Ultegra 11-Speed Double Chainset is a high-performance chainset designed to meet the demands of competitive and enthusiast cyclists. With a 50/34T chainring configuration and 170 mm crank arm length, this chainset is engineered using Shimano's HollowTech II technology, which combines lightweight materials with maximum stiffness for superior power transfer and efficiency. The hollow outer chainring, known as HollowGlide, greatly enhances rigidity, reducing flex and improving shifting precision even under heavy load.
Specifically developed for use with 11-speed HG-EV chains, the chainring teeth ensure optimal contact, promoting greater pedaling efficiency and improved power transfer. The 4-arm HollowTech II cold-forged crank arms offer industry-leading rigidity while reducing overall weight, making this chainset a top choice for road racing, time trials, and triathlons.
In addition to its lightweight design, the FC-R8000 chainset boasts wide gear pitch spacing to increase clearance between the chain and leading teeth. This provides compatibility with frames that feature 135/142 mm O.L.D. spacing and 410 mm chainstay lengths. While the HollowTech II bottom bracket is sold separately, its integrated design ensures smooth rolling performance with increased durability due to a wider bearing placement and larger axle diameter.
