Description
Irish certified Goldcrop No.2 Premium Lawn Seed 5kg specially blended for a low maintenance, hard wearing lawn that has excellent colour and uniform appearance. Sow from March to September. 5kg covers 100 sq metres. The grass seed contains a unique blend: 60% dwarf perennial, 35% vigorous creeper, 5% chewings fescue. These grasses will become established very quickly and have been chosen because of their natural toughness and vitality.
New Lawn
- Clear the area, consider using a complete weedkiller to remove all weeds and old grasses.
- Cultivate the area and remove stones and debris.
- Rake and level the site until a fine firm crumb texture is achieved.
Existing Lawns
- Rake and scarify thoroughly
Sowing
- Incorporate pre-seeding fertiliser and lime into the soil surface to encourage vigorous growth
- Spread 35g/m – 50g/m of high quality turf lawn seed over the area.
- Lightly rake the area to a depth of 0.5cm to cover seed.
- Press the seed into the soil by walking or rolling over.
After Care
- Water to ensure that the area remains moist.
- When the news grass reaches 8cm height, cut to 2.5cm approx.
- On the first cut let the clippings fall, on the second and subsequent cut remove all clippings.
