What is LEADER?

LEADER promotes sustainable development in Europe’s rural areas, addressing economic, social, and environmental concerns. It was established to aid the development of sustainable rural communities following the reforms of the Common Agricultural Policy.

LEADER in County Cavan

In County Cavan, the Local Community Development Committee (LCDC) is responsible for delivering the LEADER programme, with Cavan County Local Development (CCLD) as the key implementation partner. Over the programme period, LEADER will invest in innovative community and private enterprise projects in our county.

Vision and Objectives

The Cavan LEADER Local Action Group aims to develop sustainable rural communities by enhancing the social, natural, human, physical, and financial resources available to individuals and communities. The goal is to make Cavan a place where people enjoy a high quality of life, with improved living, working, and recreational opportunities.
